Privacy Notice

Chip Hayes, doing business as Forgewright Advisors (“Forgewright,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides business diagnostic and advisory services. This notice explains how we handle information when you visit forgewrightadvisors.com, use its calculator, submit an enquiry, or otherwise contact us before an engagement begins.
Information we collect
Information you provide. The enquiry form asks for your name, company, email address, optional phone number, the service you are interested in, and the message you write. We also receive information you choose to provide by email or phone.
Website and analytics information. Our hosting and analytics providers may receive browser and device type, operating system, approximate location, pages viewed, referring page, time of visit, and interactions with buttons, sections, and forms. Google Analytics may use a first-party cookie or similar pseudonymous identifier.
Calculator information. Calculator arithmetic runs in your browser. We do not receive or store the raw figures you enter. Analytics may receive limited event information such as a revenue band, company type, result band, and number of flags—not the raw answers, your name, or your email address.
Why we use information
- respond to enquiries and determine whether the Diagnostic is a fit;
- arrange calls and communicate about a possible or current business relationship;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
- understand site usage and whether pages and forms are working;
- maintain business records and comply with legal obligations; and
- prevent fraud, spam, misuse, and security incidents.
We do not use public-enquiry information or client records to build a benchmark dataset during the launch phase.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, or enquiry-form text to Google Analytics. You can limit cookies through your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Launch configuration: Our site permits analytics storage for website measurement and denies advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization by default. Google Signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled in the site code. The Forgewright GA4 property's user and event data retention settings are 14 months. We do not use the site to serve personalized ads.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as reasonably needed to hosting and form-processing providers such as Netlify; analytics providers such as Google Analytics; providers supporting email, calendar, document signing, payment, storage, and security; professional advisers; and authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security. Authorized administrators of the Netlify team account hosting this site may access public enquiry submissions.
Email routing: Messages sent to our Forgewright email account, including website enquiry notifications and privacy requests, are currently forwarded to Chip Hayes's separate Retreat Construction email account for monitoring and response. A copy remains in the Forgewright inbox. Do not send sensitive client records through either ordinary email route.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not become engagements: the business copy is targeted for deletion or anonymization within 12 months after the last substantive contact. This target also applies to copies in our Forgewright and Retreat email accounts, subject to legal or insurance preservation needs.
- Netlify form submissions: the copy stored in Netlify is targeted for deletion within 90 days after any needed export. Chip reviews the submissions monthly and deletes eligible copies manually; deletion is not automatic.
- Google Analytics user and event data: the Forgewright property is configured for 14-month retention, with the user-data period reset on new user activity. Aggregated standard reports may be retained differently by Google.
- Client engagement records: governed by the signed engagement documents and client-record retention policy.
- Legal, security, and transaction records: retained as reasonably necessary for legal obligations, disputes, fraud prevention, insurance, and enforcement.
Backup copies may remain until overwritten in the ordinary course. We may retain aggregated information that cannot reasonably be linked to an individual.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, a copy, or limits on certain uses. You may also ask us to stop non-transactional communications. Email chayes@forgewrightadvisors.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may request information reasonably needed to verify and process the request.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Do not use the public form or ordinary email for sensitive client records.
Children and other websites
The site and services are intended for adults acting for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the site. Links to websites we do not control are governed by those sites' own notices.
Changes
We may update this notice as services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised notice here and update the effective date. We will provide any additional notice or choice applicable law requires for a material change affecting information already collected.
